Methodology

What we record

Each license change is one entry: the project, the previous and new licenses, the first version under the new license, the date, and the sources.

Sources

Official: the project's announcement, license file or documentation. Media: reporting by a news outlet. Repository: commits or release notes.

Confidence

High: confirmed in an official source. Medium: confirmed in media or repository sources only. Low: sources conflict or are incomplete.

Commercial impact labels

None
The new license adds no restriction on commercial use.
Restricted
Commercial use is allowed with conditions, such as limits on offering a managed service.
Prohibited
The license does not permit commercial use without a separate agreement.
Unclear
The terms do not allow a clear classification.

Verification date

The date we last checked the sources for an entry.
